We explored the places where the signal drops, sideways rain, long roads, cold hikes, trail runs, secret surf spots and found the one thing that always lives: the roadside establishment. We started this roadtrip to get back to the places we love and find new corners of the map, but wherever we went we were always greeted by a remote pub or a roadside café.
There’s nowhere that brings people together quite like these spaces - a post surf pint, a hike or a long road-trip pit stop just hits different here. It might be the only place where a surfer meets trucker or hiker meets farmer, and it felt right to document that, bring it into Gravitate's world and create a playbook to try and navigate these hidden spots.
We’re not sure where this roadtrip will end up, what we will find and the people we'll meet, but we think that is where the best journeys and stories happen. This is a tribute to the roadtrip, and the unseen, underrated pit-stop.
